Guava leaves
Psidium guajava, commonly known as the guava tree, is a small tropical evergreen with smooth, pale brown branches and leathery, oval-shaped leaves that have a slightly aromatic scent. Clusters of white flowers appear seasonally, followed by green or yellow fruit. Native to tropical regions of Central and South America, it also thrives in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. The leaves have a long history of use for promoting digestive balance and supporting immune defenses. Modern research attributes these properties to rich concentrations of natural compounds, such as antioxidants and antimicrobials, which help the body guard against oxidative stress, inflammation, and microbial threats, reinforcing tradition with scientific insight.
